I started this because I was obsessed with buying apps.
(Not using them, just buying them.)
I’d glom onto one topic and literally OBSESS over finding “the perfect app.” Which I never did.
Then I got obsessed with REVIEWING apps.
(I did have to start using them at that point.)
But now I’m obsessed with CREATING apps.
Web apps for now, and I’ve been learning HTML since my first site on Angelfire, lol.
I currently have like ten sites (coz I get obsessive about themes and fonts and such; also organisation, which I’m never pleased with).
My latest “project” (aka “obsession”) is this whole “no-code” thing (and, apparently, the whole “air quotes” thing, heh), more for apps than aught else, but there you have it.
I’ve been mucking about with Canva Code and Replit and Lovable for a bit now, and have been posting reviews to various sites (and ranting to whomever will listen, and several who won’t, lol).
My “angle” or viewpoint is “a non-techie obsessed with tech–and with creating TEaCHNOLOGY,” aka a retired university professor who is STILL obsessed with creating classroom resources in her areas of study, lol.
And, while I’ve been learning “about” coding for a good, LONG time, the truth is that I’ve always been sooo busy with finals and syllabi and naughty students (I taught communication courses, primarily, aka “every last one of them HAD to be there, and thoroughly HATED it. The requirement, I mean. Until they played my classroom games, after which it was ok.” Which is why they felt they had to pull shenanigans (to escape), but also, why I feel SOOO STRONGLY about creating the games that I did!)
For over 15 years I designed games, and over 50 of them “were in print” at one time, but it was print-on-demand. Before it was a thing. And then the internet happened.
So now, I’ve gotten it into my head that every game I ever developed–and HUNDREDS more (and over SEVENTY online courses I wrote back in the day!) are getting the Digital Treatment, aka WE GOING ONLINE WITH THIS STUFF NOW!
Which reminds me… I’ve got two DECADES of old posts and new games to, erm, post.
So I’ll go and do that now.
Glad you stopped by, hope you find something useful around here!
🙂
love,
sb
